For the cultural shift project, we were prompted as a group to come up with technological inventions that featured augmented reality. For my segment, I focused on a medical machine called the Da Vinci. The Da Vinci is essentially a robot that performs surgery based on the movements of a doctor’s hand using a controller from a different room. The doctor who is performing the hand motions could be anywhere in the world controlling the device in which is performing the actual procedure. In the video, I explain what this technology is doing to our culture and how it affects the future of the medical industry.
