Prague – CESNET

The next place that we went to was CESNET. Pavel set up a meeting for us with his friend who would show us what they were working on. I really liked what the staff showed us when we went there.  I believe it was a university that we went to, again in s hidden spot deep in a building. We saw a couple cave projects they had that were all 3D. The first was a virtual tour of the city of Prague. You could control where you were walking with the controller and it felt like you were hovering over the cobblestone. It was an exact replica of the city, if you were familiar with the land then you would know exactly where you were. This was done with the use of multiple projectors so that you were surrounded and it felt real.  He then switched the projector to a different mode which was a ball pit type of game.  A rainbow of balls dropped and you could kick them up using the controller and it felt like they were flying at you with the 3D glasses. I felt like I could touch them! After that, we observed a class that was working with arduino boards. They were making different projects around the class, one was making fruit instruments, one was making a moving led lights, and the others were just getting started. It was nice to see that other schools and countries are learning the same material that we do at umaine.
